Training and Development

Strengthening the People Who Deliver Healthcare

Sustainable healthcare improvement depends on a skilled, supported and continuously developing workforce. Tiba Neo is building training and development programmes designed for the realities of clinical practice in Uganda and East Africa.

In Development

Our training programmes are being developed in consultation with clinical institutions and health management organisations. We welcome conversations with facilities, professional bodies and employers interested in workforce development.

Why We Invest in Training

The quality of healthcare is inseparable from the quality of the people delivering it. Uganda has a dedicated and capable healthcare workforce — but access to structured continuing education, clinical mentorship and health management development remains uneven. Tiba Neo's training and development work is designed to address that gap: building practical capability, supporting professional growth and strengthening the institutional capacity to deliver better care.

Our Training Programmes

We are developing a range of programmes for clinical professionals, health managers and institutional teams. Each is designed to be practical, contextually relevant and directly applicable to the Ugandan and East African health environment.

Clinical Skills Development

Training is designed around the services being introduced. Planned approaches include simulation, specialist mentorship and supervised clinical practice. Proctoring provides support from an experienced specialist while practitioners develop competence in an approved procedure. Training covers relevant nursing, theatre and technical staff alongside clinical leads.

For: Doctors, nurses, theatre staff, clinical officers and allied health professionals

Continuing Professional Development

CPD programmes that help healthcare professionals stay current with clinical evidence and develop new areas of practice. We support institutions in meeting their ongoing learning requirements without claiming accreditation or CPD points unless formally confirmed.

For: All registered healthcare professionals

Mentorship and Clinical Supervision

Structured mentorship arrangements pairing experienced clinicians with those earlier in their careers — supporting professional confidence, clinical reasoning and career development.

For: Junior doctors, newly qualified nurses, clinical officers

Health Management and Leadership

Practical training in health service management, operational leadership, quality improvement and financial stewardship — for those responsible for running clinical departments and health facilities.

For: Hospital managers, department heads, clinical leads

Digital Health and Technology Adoption

Training to support the effective use of digital health tools — electronic health records, telemedicine platforms, data systems and clinical decision support — within institutional workflows.

For: Clinical and administrative staff working with digital systems

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

Practical quality improvement methodology, patient safety frameworks and clinical audit skills — equipping teams to identify problems, design interventions and measure change.

For: Clinical teams, quality officers, department managers

How We Design Our Programmes

Contextually grounded

We design for the Ugandan and East African health environment — not for high-income settings. Case studies, scenarios and examples reflect the realities of practice here.

Practically focused

Every programme is built around what participants can apply immediately. We prioritise skills and knowledge that make a direct difference to clinical practice and institutional performance.

Institutionally embedded

Where possible, we deliver training within or alongside institutional workflows — reducing the burden on participants and increasing the likelihood that learning translates into practice.

Outcomes oriented

We measure what changes — in knowledge, in practice and in institutional performance. Training that cannot demonstrate impact is training that needs to be redesigned.
